Who is this guy and where did he come from?
Pastor Dave grew up in a Christian home and was saved at the age of nine. Throughout his teenage years he struggled with assurance of his salvation. While at college, traveling on the Minutemen Evangelist Team, he came to a more complete understanding of salvation. This helped him to move past the struggle with assurance and really begin to grow in his walk with Christ.
Pastor Dave went to Bob Jones University in the fall of 1994, after some considerable discussion with his parents. As is the case with most seniors, he did not know where to go to college; but in following the guidance of his parents he decided to go to BJU. During the second semester of his freshman year, he met the most beautiful girl in the world. Her name was Jenny. They became very good friends, but never really dated in college. After finishing college, Pastor Dave began to get a little more serious about life and realized that he was going to need a helper to minister with him. He desired to increase the friendship with Jenny, but was very unsure of her desires. A few days before Christmas of 1998 he timidly mailed a Christmas card to her, the card made it to her on Christmas Eve. It must have been received well, because he received a note in response. Gaining confidence he returned with a letter and she returned with a letter. Soon, they entered the 21st century and began to correspond over email. Nine months later he proposed! She accepted and they were married the summer of 2000. In September 2001, they had Micah and in November of 2003, Laci was born. Pastor Dave has still not finished school. He received a BA degree in Bible, an MA degree in Church Ministries and is currently working on the Master of Divinity degree.
Pastor Dave has been in ministry for the past nine years. He began ministry as a Residence Hall Counselor and taught Bible at Bob Jones Academy. The Lord then led him and his family to Chicago as a youth pastor for three years. In 2004, he returned to BJU to assume the role of Assistant Dean of Men. In June 2006, he came to Grace as the youth/assistant pastor.
Pastor Dave desires to see the youth of Grace grow in their relationship with Christ. He longs for them to come to a full understanding of the wonderful riches they have because of Christ. He is eager to see the growth of our youth group. He also is excited to begin to reach out into our community and show the love and mercy demonstrated by our Savior.
