Christ is the Head of the church, and we get our life through Him. Without Him we are nothing (Jn. 15:5). As we kick off this year of “Connect,” we want to first make sure that each individual is connected in Christ. If you have never accepted Christ as your Savior, then that is the first step in getting Connected. If you are already a believer, can you truly say that everything you do is “IN Christ.” Our goal is for each of us to deepen our love for Christ and allow Him to direct all our actions, thoughts, and motives.
February - Connect with your Small Groups
In the New Testament, Paul refers to the church as the “body of Christ.” If a body is going to function at its best, then it needs to be interconnected. All systems depend on each other. Here at Grace, we want you to be connected to the other members of the Body of Christ so that we can get to know each other better so we can love and serve each other. One way to do this is to be connected though your groups - deacons groups, ministry groups, and connect groups.
March - Connect through Communication
Cooperation is always directly related to communication. If you want better cooperation, it requires better communication. Our goal is to see every member connected with Grace though some form of communication. To help aid this, we will have a new church app in the near future that will put all the tools of communication right in the palm of your hand - literally. From announcements to giving, we want to make it easy and accessible for you to communicate with us.
April - Connect through Hospitality
What a church is known for says a lot to people who are looking to visit or stay in your congregation. At Grace hospitality is key. Connecting an atmosphere where people feel invited to live, grow, and serve is what we strive to do each day. You don’t need to be a “greeter” or usher to make people feel welcome, but those are great ways to get involved in our hospitality groups.
May - Connect Through Worship
We don’t go to church, we go to worship. Worship is an individual matter, and every aspect of the service is part of our worship. The congregational singing, the special music, the choir, the offering, the message, and every other aspect, are all important and integral parts of worship. We want each member to worship God individually while we worship Him corporately.
June - Connect with our Community
Grace desires to fulfill the great commission by reaching out to our community, and we all have been called to reach out to those around us. This month we will run our annual VBS, and this is a great way for you to be involved in reaching out to our communities.
July - Connect with your Family
Often times, in our very busy schedules, we do things with family, but we don’t actually connect with our family. This month, we want you to purposefully make time to connect with your family. Use your Sunday nights to plan special family times together.
August - Connect through Ministries
Ministering together builds unity. What ministries are you involved in? How can you be better connected with those you serve with? This month, spend time getting to know those you minister with and those you minister too. If you don’t have a ministry, there are many here at Grace for you to get involved in.
September - Connect with Prayer
Connecting to God through prayer is essential to walking in the Spirit. We should spend time each day in focused, organized prayer. As we pray, we should be praying for others in our church, as this is an important way to meet one another's needs. Another priority of prayer should be praying for our own spiritual growth.
October - Connect with Missions
Missions exists because worship of God does not. There are places all around the globe where there is no Gospel witness. Our attitude toward missions should be, “I am going, but I am willing to stay.” God has not called all of us into full time missions, but here at Grace, through faith promise giving, we have the awesome opportunity, and the sobering responsibility to support those in full time mission work. Take time this month to get to know one (or more) of our missionaries. We are missionaries and send missionaries so that others will become worshippers of the one true God.
November - Connect through Giving
We don’t work to get, we work to get so we can give. Everything we have has been given to us by God. Let us give back to Him by giving to others.
December - Connect through the Word
Reading, meditating, memorizing God’s Word for the purpose of knowing & loving God better.
